Desi families are a bit different from your average family. 'Desi' is a term meant to encompass South Asian cultures: Indian, Pakistani (me!), Bangali , as well as Sri Lankan. Some of us may be Hindu, some Muslim, and even others Christian, but life in a brown/desi household will basically entitle the same thing....
