Weddings (cont.)



On the shaadi night there are many 'rasams' to be done. One of the favorite traditions of the brides side is the game of chupan chupai. Which means hide and seek in English. In this 'rasam' close girl friends as well as siblings of the bride try to get close to the groom in order to steal his shoes and hold it ransom for an exchange of cash. This game is truly entertaining when the groom's side tries to steal the shoes back! In the end it is customary for the girls to at least get some amount of money. There is a lot of argument and joking around.

 

 

There is also a lot of dancing at weddings!

Afterwards there are always family pictures of course!







Now here are some pictures usually taken at a shaadi or valima which is the third day of the wedding and is basically just another version of the shaadi but this one is organized by the grooms side, while the shaadi is usually organized by the bride's side.
